AMG Mercedes Black Series

Ah, the unflinching enigma that is a Black Series AMG Mercedes. Good automobile, duff automobile, outstanding automotive: Black Collection AMGs have been them all.

AMG launched the Black Collection in 2006 as a approach of creating its existing models one step extra extreme. They’ve all been two-door fashions and only one has been on sale at a time. The SLK55 AMG was the primary, restricted to 120 items, and it was adopted by the CLK63, one in all our favourite vehicles of 2007. Some seven hundred have been sold. Then got here the SL65 AMG (with, just like the SLK55 Black, a hard and fast roof) of 2008. There was a pause during the SLS’s release, but now Black Sequence automobiles are again on the agenda.

We already know that this, the C63 AMG Black Series, is among the best. We’ve already driven the hardcore £100k coupé extensively on road and track, and it has entertained us greatly. We must always have anticipated as a lot: lineage suggests it.

The C63 Black’s most obvious predecessor from all Black Collection models is the CLK63 - up to now, the most effective of the breed, and essentially the most comparable in ethos to the C63. Each are stiff, medium-sized coupés to begin with.

However no matter the fact that this model has already amused us, there are sound causes for conducting a full road check on the C63 Black Series. We wanted to know the way it holds up to extended circuit use. We’d wish to know, objectively, how well it performs in a straight line, around corners and under braking. Most of all, though, we simply wished to do it. And, ultimately, we would have liked no more justification than that.
